Denton’s Manned Missiles, with their lo-fi retro soul-influenced jams, have been impressing quite a few folks around town for the past year or so. They were even kind enough to play our showcase at Club Dada last week. They’re currently recording their next album and Benjamin recently stopped by The Local Edge studios to play one of the new tracks.
You already know we support local film, but did you know we’re also holding it down on the local music tip? It’s true, friend, and to prove it we’re throwing a local music party for you! Tonight at the newly renovated and improved Club Dada in Deep Ellum, Pearl Snap Discount presents the latest installment in their Blogosphere series starring Pale Horse, Manned Missiles and Soviet! Doors at 8p and downbeat is at 9p. So come out and have a drink with us and let’s celebrate the fantastic arts community we have in DFWd!
Wanna learn more about the bands? More after the jump…

And, thanks in no small part to the immediacy of the interwebs, we currently find ourselves in the middle of a musical shift. Gone is the pretense surrounding long players, which have given way to EPs and, increasingly, singles as the preferred method of consumption.
The upstart Dallas punks in Soviet know quite well of our short attention span. And, thus, their debut Forever Today EP gets to the point quickly.
