Denton’s Manned Missiles, with their lo-fi retro soul-influenced jams, have been impressing quite a few folks around town for the past year or so. They were even kind enough to play our showcase at Club Dada last week. They’re currently recording their next album and Benjamin recently stopped by The Local Edge studios to play one of the new tracks.

Local Music Review: Soviet

Much like in film, there’s something to be said for a band that can convey its message in a short period of time. And, thanks in no small part to the immediacy of the interwebs, we currently find ourselves in the middle of a musical shift. Gone is the pretense surrounding long players, which have given way to EPs and, increasingly, singles as the preferred method of consumption.
The upstart Dallas punks in Soviet know quite well of our short attention span. And, thus, their debut Forever Today EP gets to the point quickly.
