We’ve long been fans of Dallas’ Air Review and their brand of anthemic rock-pop. They’ve spent most of the time since their fantastic debut LP, Landmarks, in the recording studio. One of the most ambitious bands in the area are now readying a new EP for release in the Fall, and they’re previewing it online.

Local Music Review: Soviet

Much like in film, there’s something to be said for a band that can convey its message in a short period of time. And, thanks in no small part to the immediacy of the interwebs, we currently find ourselves in the middle of a musical shift. Gone is the pretense surrounding long players, which have given way to EPs and, increasingly, singles as the preferred method of consumption.

The upstart Dallas punks in Soviet know quite well of our short attention span. And, thus, their debut Forever Today EP gets to the point quickly.
