Dallas VideoFest – Inventive 25th

The Dallas VideoFest has spent the past 25 years looking to highlight, educate and challenge the community’s view on video work.  This week starts up the festival with a brand new medium.  But It’ll also rely heavily on what made it a real treasure for the DFW area.  PSD and Selig Film News got to be part of two roundtable’s that highlight the new and the old of DVF.  Click through as we look into Expanded Cinema and look back with one of the pioneers of the animation game, the great Keith Alcorn.

Introducing The Colurs – Interview Max Townsley and Drew Erickson

From The Colurs website:

“The Colurs combine contemporary pop production with the songwriting aesthetics of Brian Wilson, Todd Rundgren, and The Beatles, and lush orchestral arrangements reminiscent of scores by Frank Churchill and Oliver Wallace (from Disney’s Alice In Wonderland, Bambi, etc.), to create a fresh new sound.

I was able to chat with Max Townsley and Drew Erickson aka The Colurs.  They also played an “acoustic” version of their song Washed Away.  Click thru already!

Home Cookin': The Third Annual Homegrown Festival

In what has quickly become one of our favorite things to do in Dallas during the summer, the Homegrown Music and Arts Festival returns for its third edition this Saturday, May 26. As per usual, the fest will take part at Downtown Dallas’ Main Street Garden Park, and will feature 14 regional and local acts (including a few PSD faves).
