Fancy Dranks: The Craft Cocktails Texas Festival

If there’s one thing we love here at PSD, it’s festivals. If there’s two things we love here at PSD it’s #fancydranks. Put them together and you have the first annual Craft Cocktails Texas Festival. The four day fest includes exclusive tastings from some of the best mixologists in the state, and it’s all for a good cause.

As per usual, the fest will take part at Downtown Dallas’ Main Street Garden Park, and will feature 14 regional and local acts (including a few PSD faves).

DIFF After Hours with PSD: Just Another Tuesday Night

Words by Kara Brock

I’ve heard that movie stars’ big night out on the town is Tuesday nights because all the average people are at home resting up for work the next day. And maybe that is why last Tuesday night was the night to party at DIFF. It started, of course, at the Angelika at Mockingbird Station seeing Sironia.

DIFF After Hours with PSD: Reel FX Party

Words by Kara Brock

So far DIFF is two for two as far as after-parties go. Not just hits, but home runs. If I knew anything about baseball I would give you that batting average stat, but I know enough to know that’s good. Hit the jump to find out why.

DIFF After Hours with PSD: Opening Night Gala

Words by Kara Brock

For the past six years, Dallas has been ushering in spring with the finest independent films. But it’s not just the late night screenings and concession stand dinners that have caused all Dallas movie lovers to make their bosses shake their heads when they stroll in late to work, coffee in hand, and desperately in need of a nap. Don’t get me wrong, the films are great but in the words of the great R. Kelly “after the show is the after party and after the party it’s the hotel lobby.” These words rang true once again after last night’s opening night screening and gala.  This year, don’t just go to the movies and call it a night. Follow the after hours scene with Pearl Snap Discount.

Always keep moving. And drinking.

SXSW 2012: Friday

(Of Monsters and Men were the highlight of Friday. All photos courtesy of Kara Schectman Photography)

Friday I played host to the 2nd annual Local Edge at SXSW unoffish day party at Doc’s (more on that in a separate post). But that wasn’t the only event on my Friday agenda. I hit up the Spin day party, the Filter Showdown at Cedar Street party, and the Windish Agency showcase. Can’t stop. Won’t stop.

SXSW 2012: Thursday

This truly is my favorite time of the year. It’s like Christmas for hipsters. Hopefully you followed my hijinx on Twitter (@themark23) throughout the fest for my ridiculous observations. My Thursday at SXSW consisted of:
