Cathy Rigby knows how to fly so believe her when she says Dart Green Line is an awesome way to make it to Music Hall at Fair Park to see her in Peter Pan! Speaking of the great Mrs. Rigby, click thru for our one-on-one interview with her, our chat with Captain Hook himself (He got a bit teary eyed during our chat = Really awesome moment), and even a few pictures from the fun opening night after-party with the full cast/crew in attendance.
If Neverland is a place in which you can remain a kid and be totally happy, well then I visited Neverland this past Tuesday evening. Opening night was a total hoot with all the crow calling, acrobatics, and of course the flying! PSD was able to sit with the great Cathy Rigby in the seats she “flies over” every night of the show.
Music Hall at Fair Park is a perfect venue for this show. The seats are all movable and really allow for the kiddos to “fly around”. They can play along as Peter teaches Wendy, John & Michael how to use fairy dust correctly. The quickest way to regaining your childhood, if you’re in an older age bracket, is to watch this amazing musical!!
It’s one thing to get Peter Pan to talk about flying, but how about to make Captain Hook tear up a bit. Well the wonderful Brent Barrett (Captain Hook/Mr. Darling) shared some awesome stories of his 30 (plus) year history on & off-Broadway.
The superb cast is rounded out nicely with a wonderfully sweet Wendy (youngster Krista Buccellato), Michael (played by young Miss Julia Massey – she leads one fantastic sequence!), and the lovely Jenna Wright who steals scenes with just her dancing as Tiger Lily! Also special shout outs to big Michael Shepperd (Starkey – the mutiny loving plank diver!) and the polite and funny Lost Boy Twins played by Marc Andrew Nunez & JC Layag.
But I think y’all will fall in love with the scenes shared by Nana the Dog/Croc with Mr. Darling/Captain Hook. In fact the Dallas based fella playing the dual roles is a really cool dude. Check it out, we got to play shuffle board with Clark Roberts aka (Nana/Croc/Bill Dukes/Fight Captain)!!!
The after party home had two amazing elements. One was the “secret staircase” that led to shuffle board fun amongst a ton of awesome autographed posters/pictures/awards. 2nd was the incredible backyard with these 2 pools.
This was the main pool, on the other side of those white pillars was the lap pool.
Once again I want to thank Brent Barrett for being so open and honest. Make sure you give him and this amazing cast a special shout and clap when you make it out to the musical. It’s time you looked up at the stars and believed as you did when you were a little kid.
