“The Dallywood Schmoozefest is bringing together local filmmakers, actors and other industry individuals for an opportunity to promote their projects. There’s power in numbers and we’re hoping to bring more unity to our local film community.”
I sat down with the creator of the Dallywood Schmoozefest, J. Michael McCoy, to discuss the wonderful festival that looks to bring our Dallas Film community closer together. J. Michael talks about last year’s inaugural Dallywood Schmoozefest.
I’m not sure what this picture has to do with the Festival, but I do know you add a few hundred folks to this pic and then all of sudden you have something KICK ASS.
Well J.Michael has something to say to us Dallas folks.
J. Michael knows about the film community because he’s a member of it and has been for over a decade. Also can notice, on the slate, who the DP was on J. Michael’s latest film Zero One. Yep Ron G!!!! J. Michael talks about the reason why he wanted to set up the Dallywood Schmoozefest.
Now there is a really great cause that the Dallywood Schmoozefest helps out.

J. Michael and I discussed the films that will be highlighted at the Schmoozefest. One film in particular we talked about is Will Canon’s gripping film Brotherhood. The film actually opens up TODAY at the Angelika Dallas and if you haven’t seen it, MAKE PLANS TO SEE IT ALREADY!!!

Come out to Celebrate Film in Dallas tomorrow evening at 8pm at the Texas Theatre. See you there!!!
