Exclusive Interview with Writer Andie Redwine

Oliver Luke (Mark in the film), Heather Del Rio (Esther), and Dane Seth Hurlburt (Gabriel)

Andie Redwine has mixed her real life story with years of research, into religious groups, to mold a gripping film.  Paradise Recovered is a deeply passionate film for everyone that was involved in its production.  I was able to chat with Andie about the story behind the plot of the film and also about the amazing experience of making her first feature script come to life.

Andie’s background was the main catalyst for the story.

She befriended a very influential person during this time period in her life.

And so Andie began the writing process and another influential person changed everything.

Then our pal Storme comes into the picture.

Andie and Storme!!

The film takes place in Austin and in Indiana.  Andie lives in Indiana and she explains how wonderful the town was during shooting.

The extras play an important role in giving the film a wonderful “normal” feeling.

Andie opens up about one of those pivotal scenes shot in Indiana.

Cast and Crew of Paradise Recovered.

Looking into the actual characters in the film its amazing to see how much of Andie is in our male lead character, Gabriel.

Andie does an amazing job of summing up the basis for Esther’s character, played amazingly well by Heather Del Rio.

Andie talks about how Gabriel opens Esther up as a person.

In the film their are many parallels to biblical stories.  Even though the film never comes across as preachy, but rather it highlights the positive impacts of the stories if they are told from a good place.  One of the stories that really sums up the acts of kindness that Gabriel and Mark give to Esther is the tale of the Good Samaritan.  Andie talks about this tale and its importance to the structure of the film.

The film weaves the philosophy of Gabriel and the religion of Esther to really showcase the major parallels and also the vast differences they share.
